How to make a DIY
body scrub

Basic Pantry Ingredients for Easy DIY Scrub

A luxury body scrub is as easy as pie with the ingredients that is already in your pantry.

A body scrub is what you will need to revive any dullness your skin might have. By removing dead skin cells that cause your skin to look dull, rough and uneven textured, will result in your skin being soft and brightened again.

When you remove the dry & dead skin cells, you are paving a way to deeper hydration. Body scrubs are so easy to make at home. You have the luxury of tailoring the scrub to your skin and using ingredients you like and that won’t cause skin sensitivity for you.

However, keep in mind that not every ingredient that is found in the kitchen pantry should be applied to your skin. For example, fresh lemon juice or apple cider vinegar should rather be avoided. Any ingredient that might sting of burn is best to avoid.

Body scrub benefits

You can boost the health and appearance of your skin by using a ody scrub.

Because the top layer of dead skin is removed when you exfoliate, it will leave your skin looking brighter. It can also help to stimulate the production of collagen.

By exfoliating first and then applying a body cream, the cream will have the ability to penetrate better and deeper instead of sitting on the surface. This will result in better efficacy.

Lastly, by stimulating blood circulation through massaging your skin with a body scrub, it will result in you feeling more relaxed and calmer.

How often should you use a body scrub?

Even though we love the benefits of using a body scrub, it is best advised to not use it every single day as this will result in over exfoliating the skin and removing not only dead skin cells but the natural oil from the skin barrier too.

It is best recommended to only use your body scrub no more than two to three times a week. It is the easiest to use your scrub whilst in the bath or shower by gently massaging the scrub over your skin in circular motions. Rinse off with warm water. For the best results apply a hydrating moisturiser afterwards.
